Lubrication
Titanium is an amazing material for drum tension rods - strong, lightweight and corrosion-resistant, but like all titanium hardware, it can be prone to a phenomenon called galling (a type of seizing that happens when titanium threads bind with other metals under pressure).
The good news is this can easily be avoided, we recommend using a small amount of anti-seize compound with our titanium tension rods. Just apply a thin layer to the threads during installation and your rods will stay smooth and easy to tune.
For best long term results, reapply some anti seize whenever you replace your heads - it'll keep your rods feeling brand new for years!
Finish
The anodised finish on your titanium tension rods is very durable. Over time, the colour may show minor wear, but this should only occur on the threads that are inserted into the lug. This is normal, purely cosmetic, and does not affect the rods’ performance or strength. The colour won’t fade on its own — it only changes where it is exposed to mechanical abrasion
